Jockey Selector instructions for Excel. The jockey selector is designed to automate your jockey selections each week and is a benefit especially for multi-stable trainers. I find that entering jockeys for my 12 stables takes me 15 minutes all up each week. And they are always accurate. Important Note - only type in the YELLOW shaded areas - nowhere else, or you could type over formulas!!! This spreadsheet is very simple to use, however the instructions are long-winded to ensure you get it right. Setting Up I. Type your stable name(s) in cell H1, H9, H17 etc. depending on the number of stables. This spreadsheet allows for 12 stables at a time. 2. You need to fill in the database with the your top 4 jockeys in order at each of the 82 tracks. These may be changed at any time you choose. You do this by starting with California (or track 01) in cell D2 through to G2. Thus the jockey number in D2 represents your first choice at California. The jockey number in E2 represents your second choice etc. You continue to do this all the way down to track 82. This will establish your database at which you may change at any time. Selecting jockeys for this week's races The sim gives you the choice to select 20 jockeys each week for one stable. So lets set up an example and show you how to easily select your jockeys. You have entered three horses for one stable for this week's races. All these horses have second preference races as well. Tom Thumb in a stakes races First selection track 50 second selection track 49 Billy Bunter in claiming races First selection track 7 second selection track 34 Jack Frost in allowance races First selection track 17 second selection track 70 This where you decide the order of up to 20 jockeys. In cell I2 you choose a track number (let's say 50 for Tom Thumb). In cell I3 you choose the quantity of jockeys. You will need to select a number between one and four. If you type 2, then your top two preferred jockey numbers are displayed in the cells immediately below. In the example above I might choose this scenario: Track 50 (type 50 in cell I2) - four jockeys (type 4 in cell I3) Track 17 (type17 in cell J2) - four jockeys (type 4 in cell J3) Track 7 (type 7 in cell K2) - four jockeys (type 4 in cell K3) Track 49 (type 49 in cell L2) - four jockeys (type 4 in cell L3) Track 70 (type 70 in cell M2) - two jockeys (type 2 in cell M3) Track 34 (type 34 in cell N2) - two jockeys (type 2 in cell N3) The counter in the green shaded area will tell you how many jockeys you have selected. You may need to change the qty row to satisfy the 20 jockey limit. Once you have finished this the jockey numbers are selected below and this is the order you type them into the sim. When next week comes around just delete or overwrite the previous week's selections. If you have more than 12 stables then do 12 stables, print the data and start on your second 12. HINT - when you finish with your database selections, HIDE columns A thru to G. This will make it easier to print your selections ready to enter into the sim.
